Antisocial and problematic behaviour

What is it?
Antisocial and problematic behaviour is aggressive or disruptive behaviour with little or no consideration for others.

Why is it a priority?
If left unchecked, disruptive behaviour can escalate. The MERIT team can introduce supports to reduce the escalation and avoid damage or harm in the home, school, workplace or community.

We consider antisocial and problematic behaviour in conjunction with other risk factors such as:

  • emotional violence
  • gang involvement
  • home takeovers
  • mental health issues
  • negative peer association
  • parent/child conflict
  • substance use

Always call police if there is a threat to safety.
